About Hayfield May Queen

Hayfield May Queen festival was founded in 1928 and is now thought that the parade is the longest running parade of it’s kind in the country! The 100th anniversary of the founding of the festival is fast approaching and in 2019 the celebrations were extended to include a Food and Music Fest on the Sunday.

Having said that, the event survives thanks to a small band of volunteers who work tirelessly to make the celebration happen each year. Extra help is always very welcome, whether by helping out for a couple of hours on either day of May Queen weekend, or by helping in the preparation or organisation for a morning or afternoon prior to the event.
